Trillium Academy Charter School | Rob Bovitz

Rob Bovitz, CPA has been a part of Trillium Academy since its planning stages in 2001. Mr. Bovitz brings a combination of financial expertise, community relations and a background in performing arts. A native of Trenton, Rob has been involved with many art related organizations such as Downriver Council for the Arts, Wyandotte, Southgate, Trenton and Huron Theatre groups, Taylor Ballet Americana and the Southern Great Lakes Symphony.

Trillium Academy Charter School | Heather Gardner

Heather, Senior Director at DWH Corp., assists clients in understanding the fundamental challenges their businesses face and provides them with tools to help them solve these challenges as a business advisor focused on turnaround, restructuring, growth management, succession and transition while maximizing value, opportunities and outcomes for all stakeholders. She volunteers her time as the President of the Board at Trillium Academy and with the PTA for her son’s school. Heather grew up in the Downriver area, graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Operations Supply Chain Management, and currently lives in Birmingham with her son.

Trillium Academy Charter School | Lisa Green

Lisa currently serves as a Founding Member of Ambassador Counseling & Resource Group. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and College Professor at Baker College of Allen Park. She has been an educator for over 20 years, teaching Kindergarten through College students in Michigan and Indiana. Lisa has a vested interest in education and community service, serving as a Board Member of Trillium Academy and The Downriver YMCA. She is a program facilitator and researcher for the The Safer Tomorrows: Injury Prevention and Violence Reduction Project and has been recognized and published internationally. Lisa received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western Michigan University and her Master of Arts in Counseling from Spring Arbor University. She is in the process of pursuing her Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology.

 Trillium Academy Charter School | Greg Handel

Greg Handel is vice president of education and talent for the Detroit Regional Chamber. In this role he is responsible for the Chamber’s efforts to ensure that employers in the region have access to the talent needed to thrive in the 21st century global environment. Handel oversees the development and advocacy of the Chamber’s public education policy and is also responsible for the Detroit Promise, which guarantees a tuition-free path to an associate’s degree for every graduate attending a Detroit high school. He also directs other Chamber initiatives designed to increase education attainment throughout the region and recruit and prepare candidates to serve on charter school boards. Handel serves on the boards of the Michigan College Access Network, Michigan Association of Public School Academies and Trillium Public School Academy. He also partners with numerous other initiatives and organizations focused on educational improvement such as Excellent School Detroit. Handel earned a Bachelor of Science degree for the University of Detroit and is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organizational Management and the Center for Creative Leadership. He is also a graduate of Leadership Detroit Class XXII.

   
   
Trillium Academy Charter School | Steve Wisinski

Steve, CPA, CFE, and CFFA is the partner at ShindelRock responsible for client administration and firm development. He specializes in matters concerning medical practice consulting, information technology, franchising, and other service based industries. He is a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics, a Certified Fraud Examiner, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. In addition to serving on the Trillium Board, he serves as a mentor for TechTown and Practice Space, both business incubators in the City of Detroit. Steve is an Alma College graduate and enjoys playing the guitar, spending time in Northern Michigan and running the occasional marathon.
